Tunnack Morning Tea
Community Connections Begin

On Tuesday 30th June, Healthy Together Southern Midlands, in partnership with Rural Chaplain Kim Jaeger, hosted the first Tunnack Morning Tea – built around the idea: one cup of tea, one conversation, one connection.
This marks the beginning of an ongoing initiative; with monthly morning teas planned for the last Tuesday of each month in the small room behind the Tunnack Community Club.
We look forward to growing these connections and welcoming more community members
along.

Day Trippers
On Thursday 25 June, Day Trippers and Healthy Together Southern Midlands took 16 community members on a day trip to Dunalley, featuring a stop at the Denison Canal, lunch at The Cannery, and a visit to Richmond on the way back to Oatlands. Participants described the day as “lovely,” “enjoyable,” and well organised, and are looking forward to future trips.

Campania Free Pantry – assistance
The free community pantry was already operated by a community group who voiced to Healthy Together that they were struggling to meet the demands for food over the busy Christmas season. Healthy Together Panel agreed to support this group by ordering two Coles deliveries to Campania with non-perishable food items similar to what is provided in the Oatlands Free Pantry. The Campania group are looking at ways to manage their pantry sustainably.

COTA Tas Connection
Huge thank you to COTA Tas for their presentation during a successful World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, ‘Morning Tea for Awareness’ in Oatlands.  An event facilitated by Healthy Together and the Oatlands Community Hub.  It was a very informative session.
