Campania Community Connections

In August, Healthy Together – Southern Midlands is teaming up once again with Rural Chaplain Kim Jaeger 'Friend in the Bush' along with the Campania Community Group to bring you the very first Campania Community Morning Tea.

This new initiative is all about creating a welcoming space for neighbours to connect, share stories, and strengthen the sense of community that Campania is known for. Whether you’re new to the area, have lived here your whole life, or simply enjoy a friendly cuppa, this is a gentle way to meet people and be part of something local.

Join us for a relaxed morning of conversation, connection, and community spirit.

Tuesday 18 August 10:00am – 11:30am Campania Memorial Hall

Come along, have a cuppa, meet new people, and enjoy being part of Campania’s growing community connections.

Campania Fitness Sessions

Healthy Together – Southern Midlands has been liaising with a local fitness instructor to explore options for bringing regular movement opportunities to Campania, after this was clearly identified as a community need in our surveys.

A pop‑up introductory session was originally planned to help gauge interest and determine what style of classes would best suit residents. However, the instructor has moved ahead and begun advertising sessions directly, meaning activities will now start sooner than expected.

We’ll continue to stay connected with the instructor and the community to ensure the sessions remain accessible and aligned with what Campania residents told us they were looking for.

Pink Up Oatlands - Scarecrow Community Competition Returns this October

Healthy Together – Southern Midlands is delighted to be collaborating once again with the Mill Patch Friends to bring back the Pink Up Oatlands Scarecrow Community Competition this October.

Last year’s event filled the township with creativity, colour, and plenty of pink pride as families, schools, businesses, and community groups built scarecrows that were heartfelt, quirky, and wonderfully imaginative. The display became a talking point across the Midlands, drawing people into Oatlands to wander, admire, and celebrate local spirit while supporting an important cause.

This year, we’re excited to see the community come together again — crafting scarecrows that champion the message behind Pink Up Oatlands. Whether you’re a seasoned scarecrow builder or giving it a go for the first time, we’d love to see your ideas come to life.

More details, including theme and registration information will be shared in early September. For now, mark October in your calendar.

Just a Farmer – Community Screenings

Healthy Together now has portable screening equipment available to bring Just a Farmer to communities across the Southern Midlands. This also supports another community‑identified priority: activating local halls as social gathering spaces.

If your community would like to host a screening, please get in touch with us.

Tunnack Morning Tea

Community Connections Begin

On Tuesday 30 June, Healthy Together Southern Midlands, together with Rural Chaplain Kim Jaeger, hosted the first Tunnack Morning Tea — guided by a simple idea: one cup of tea, one conversation, one connection.

This marks the beginning of an ongoing initiative, with morning teas now scheduled for the last Tuesday of each month in the small room behind the Tunnack Community Club.

We look forward to continuing to grow these connections and welcoming more community members along.
